Has anyone regretted moving to Canada by express entry? Why?
It’s not regret but what I understand is there is no lot of job opportunities for white collar jobs as painted in other countries. In this country they made a system of certifications that make it difficult to foreign nationals to get settle properly with their higher education.
Things I faced:
- While searching for job almost every employer ask me if I have a Canadian experience. Well I am from technical field where all the rules and formulas are universal. I had exposure to different international projects but most of them stick to Canadian experience rather than my technical capabilities.
- As I have degree in engineering and experience of 8 years…employers ask for P.Eng certification to call yourself engineer. The process was made difficult for International immigrant and do not consider experience outside Canada for certification. They even ask you to give exams of certain subject which you do not use at all in your work expertise. This really does not make sense.
- If some how you manage to get job (for so called Canadian experience) and certification ….then they ask If you have Canadian passport for international travel. When you say you have passport of xyz Nationality…you get rejected.
This is reality of white collar jobs in Canada. So if you are really doing good in your country and making good money…think2ce to come here. My home town in Qatar there is best Canada immigration consultants in Qatar who help me to get the right direction.
Also, weather in Canada is cold for almost 6 to 8 months…consider these facts as well.
Apart from that People in Canada are really warm and life is good if you able to get proper job.
